Apple has unveiled the 2nd generation of their Home Pod smart speaker, a sleek and stylish device that boasts unparalleled audio quality and advanced features. With cutting-edge computational audio technology, the Home Pod offers a revolutionary listening experience, including support for Spatial Audio tracks that provide an immersive sound experience. The new Home Pod also comes loaded with Siri intelligence and the ability to control the smart home. It allows users to manage everyday tasks effortlessly, create intelligent home automations, receive notifications for smoke or carbon monoxide alarms and check room notifications temperature and humidity, all with the power of their voice.

Apple's original Home Pod was a game-changer in the world of wireless speakers, delivering exceptional audio quality and cutting-edge technology. However, in March 2021, the company decided to discontinue the Home Pod in favour of its more compact and affordable sibling, the Home Pod mini.

The re-engineered Home Pod 2 looks almost identical to its predecessor, with its round shape and cloth-covered exterior. It's a sleek design that looks great but is also subtle enough to blend in with the background - available in a classic black or white finish.

The top has had a significant upgrade, with a swirling coloured 'screen' instead of the small dot featured in the original Home Pod. The exact diameter of 5.6 inches / 142mm has been kept, although the new model is slightly shorter at 6.6 inches / 168mm.

Five tweeters now line the bottom of the unit, facing upwards to add height and Spatial Audio effects when used with Dolby Atmos audio. This is a reduction from the original seven tweeters.

The Home Pod 2 is the perfect companion for Air Play multi-room systems. Whether used alone or in a pair, it provides high-quality audio with Apple Music's lossless audio support.
